An Un-Likely Winner

Trev Likely has taken out the Unseen University Academicals’ Best and Fairest Award, after an influential season up forward.

Likely edged out fellow teammate and widely considered favourite Ponder Stibbons, to clinch the coveted award.

The ceremony held at the local pub, The Mended Drum, brought together players from the Unseen University Academicals and their opponents, Ankh Morpork United.

Likely played out the season with “fortitude and skill”, following in the footsteps of his late father, Sam, Academicals Club President Mustrum Ridcully said.

Despite Likely’s terrific year, Unseen University lost their final match against their old nemesis, Ankh Morpork.

Likely’s performance this season has been a positive sign in creating Patrician Havelock Ventinari’s dream football side.

Although facing previous financial issues in 2009, Unseen University rose from the ashes after acquiring a long-lost endowment which was left to the university.

Patrician Ventinari of Unseen University was determined to create a dominant football team with the endowment, who could ultimately pose a challenge to their rivals in Ankh Morpork.

Yet the night was not all positives for the Academicals, with The Mended Drum’s manager complaining of property damage caused on the night by guests.

More details to follow as information becomes available.
